International aviation training and education accreditation is a characterized by significant cost and high complexity. IATEO, recognizing the burden this places on industry stakeholders, is currently developing an enhanced, sustainable certification framework through a global dialog, engaging a broad spectrum of training and educational institutions, government, non-governmental organizations and our own members. Through this process IATEO will provide industry a harmonized, affordable accreditation system delivering industry relevant training and education outcomes.
Prior to the roll out of IATEO’s enhanced accreditation framework in 2016 qualifying members may be awarded the following levels of accreditation:
Platinum accreditation is automatically awarded to Institutional Members holding a full ICAO TrainAir Plus membership until 2016 after which time the enhanced accreditation criteria will be implemented.
Institutional Members holding a valid national approval for their aviation training and education course or program are awarded Gold Accreditation until 2016 after which time the enhanced accreditation criteria will be implemented.
Gold accreditation is automatically awarded to those members holding Associate Membership of ICAO TrainAir Plus.
Enhanced Framework Development
IATEO and its members are currently developing an enhanced, more agile accreditation framework building on existing procedures through an inclusive, industry-wide dialogue, a process that will reach its conclusion in 2016 with clearly defined accreditation criteria and procedures being established.

It is envisaged the enhanced accreditation framework will have 3 tiers.
Diamond – International accreditation of training and education institutions, programs and courses.
Platinum – Regional accreditation of training and education institutions, programs and courses. Regional designations will reflect those of ICAO.
Gold – National accreditation of training and education institutions, programs and courses.
Appropriate levels of accreditation will be awarded to corporate members in accordance with the enhanced framework criteria.
